Carbon negative, Earth Positive.

Carbon Negative, Earth Positive

Given our global climate crisis, action is urgently needed.

Communities and businesses are just beginning to embrace eco-friendly materials and processes. This is critical to reducing environmental impacts, but it’s not enough. In addition; communities and businesses also need to reverse the damage that’s already been done.

To that end, we are proud to announce a program to actively remove carbon from our atmosphere. Starting from launch we will voluntarily purchase carbon credits to reduce our company’s carbon footprint by 100%. That is, we will purchase at least 2x the offsetting carbon credits sufficient to remove twice as much carbon as we produce.

With every item purchased you will be removing carbon from our ecosystem.

How our program works

  • We calculate the carbon footprint of all the products we sell.

  • We also calculate our company’s carbon footprint (employees, websites, etc).

  • Each month we purchase offsetting carbon credits sufficient to offset at least 2 times our total carbon emissions. This ensures for every product we sell, carbon is removed rather than added to our environment.

  • Receipts of our purchases are recorded on a public ledger, making them fully verifiable by everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q) What is carbon negative? Is it different than carbon neutral?

A) Carbon negativity is the reduction of an entity’s carbon footprint to less than neutral, so that the net effect of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere rather than adding it.

Q) How do you calculate the carbon your footprint?

A) Estimating carbon emissions is complex and evolving. In an effort to maximize accuracy and minimize subjectivity, we are leveraging published guidelines from the EPA and others, and then rounding up for good measure.

Q) Where do you purchase carbon credits?

A) We use CLIMATETRADE. Purchases are stored on a public blockchain are are verifiable by anyone with internet access.

Q) Aren’t blockchains bad for the environment?

A) Not all of them as it turns out. Unfortunately, blockchain technologies often get lumped together and oversimplified. The blockchain we’re using is ALGORAND, which is also carbon negative.

Q) Are you affiliated in any way with the exchange?

A) No. We are simply participants.

Q) Aren’t carbon credits just enabling bad climate actors? Won’t they just continue to pollute as they have been?

A) Bad actors will continue to be bad while it serves them. More regulation is needed, and hopefully coming soon. Even still, every carbon credit we buy is unavailable for purchase by others. The more we buy, the less availability bad actors have to them.

 Q) Where is the money going?

A) The exchange details each project, it’s approach, certifications, etc. Each month we select a program to purchase credits from that best fits with our ideals.
